Months after Zimbabwe's elections were held and results delayed, the usual result seems to have finally set in: using force and intimidation, Robert Mugabe has pushed his opponent, Morgan Tsvangirai, out of the race, while the UN looks on. Tsvangirai has dropped out of the presidential runoff and has sought refuge in the Dutch embassy. Meanwhile, Mugabe's Zanu-PF militia are beating the crap out of anyone vaguely connected to Tsvangirai's MDC party.
One of the best places to follow this terrible story is the Sokwanele blog. It features detailed coverage and personal stories from within Zimbabwe's borders, and grim extras like a map of Zanu-PF-connected murders.
