Iron Ladies mention in NY Times
The NYT writes: There’s nothing impartial about “IRON LADIES OF LIBERIA,” an “Independent Lens” documentary covering Year 1 in the presidency of Ellen Johnson Sirleaf (Channel 13, 10 p.m. Friday, in New York; check local listings for other PBS stations). Made by the documentarian Daniel Junge and the Liberian journalist Siatta Scott Johnson with Ms. Johnson Sirleaf’s approval, the film is not just on her side; it’s palpably concerned for her safety as it follows her through confrontations with angry army veterans and rubber-plantation workers. And viewers are likely to feel the same way after this close-up view of the brilliant and gently indomitable president.
